Cohesive Incoherency

Portrait of a squinty geek, Seth Chromick

Hello!

The squinty guy you see up there is me, Seth Chromick (also known as Vache in some places). I am a professional web developer, living in Dayton, Ohio. I enjoy developing websites that are built using web standards, so they are both findable and accessible to anyone using the internet. This is the precedent for my minimalistic website, Cohesive Incoherency. Please do not hesitate to with questions or comments about anything you see here on the site. (Remember to axe the remove-this off my email address. I put that there to slow down spammers.)

Aesthetics aside, I am still pushing Web 2.0 concepts like microformats; for example, the paragraph above uses the hCard microformat. As time and sanity allows, I will embrace other Web 2.0 things, such as RSS, additional microformats, and social networking links.

Why am I not using a CMS?

I am not using a CMS for several reasons:

My own blogging platform, called Small Frame Code will eventually do the footwork around here. Until then, it is just me and a text editor (and that really is not so bad...)

Blogging about web standards, CSS, Web 2.0, web development, etc.

This is still a bit of a work in progress. Bare with me.

Firefox add-ons for web developers

Here is a list of add-ons every web developer should use.

Essential books for web developers

Links are great, but there is something to be said about having a book. My booklist should be required reading for anyone who ventures near web development!
